Threepenny Opera

TADS will present The Threepenny Opera as their next major production in 2012 at the Roses Theatre, directed by Oonagh Hughes.  The production dates have changed and will now be Friday 18 & Saturday 19 May 2012. Evening performances will be at 7:30pm and the Saturday matinée at 2:30pm.

There are several version of The Threepenny Opera available; Oonagh has selected the version with:

  • Music by Kurt Weill
  • Book and lyrics by Bertolt Brecht
  • English adaptation by Marc Blitzstein

There are still some places in the chorus as beggars, whores and gang members. Contact Oonagh if you would like to be considered for a part.

The get in, Technical & Dress rehearsals will be on the Sunday before the production, the 13th May.

A copy of the script including the musical score of the melody (only) of each song can be found by following this link  This is large at about 7.5MB.  Please note that this script is covered by copyright so you are not allowed to copy or print it.  It is for reference only.  To access it you will need to supply the usual TADS username & password
