Matters Arising | |
Diary | Martin confirmed it is possible to post an electronic diary on the web site. It was agreed that Martin would be in charge of censorship and if any issues arose from this then they could be brought to the next months meeting for discussion. |
| Venue price lists | Martin has compiled a list of venues to put on performances comprising their space and prices. It was agreed that a
list of venues to rehearse in would also be beneficial. Richard
Hughes is to liaise with Oonagh Hughes to compile such a list. |
| GDA AGM | Hannah Moore was unable to attend the GDA AGM. As Paula
Fancini-Hooper was not at the meeting no one was sure whether she was
able to attend the AGM so an update will be sought at the next
meeting. |
| Funding | Brenda has volunteered to assist in writing the next funding
application as she has a lot of experience in this area. Brenda will
liaise with Oonagh when the application process is open again. We are
being kept informed of dates and deadlines by Mr John Dixon. Letter requesting funding have been sent to the banks in Tewkesbury and Cotswold Dairy to date. |
Treasurers Report | |
| Little change from previous meeting. | |
Current Productions | |
| Pride & Prejudice | rehearsals are starting
as scheduled
on the 18th Sept. Due to the Boys
Brigade
Hut being damaged in the floods, rehearsals
will now take place at Liza Otter’s house. Richard Hughes wants
the first rehearsal here to focus on people getting to grips with the
accents of their parts. Richard Hughes has now cast the part of the maid. The role is to be played by Kay Chambers. Kay and Laura Giles will also be stage hands to assist in prop changes etc. Penny Tubbs is to take the role of stage manager Sue Evans is believed to have a number of costumes which we may be able to use. Sue and Jane Hughes will therefore look after the costume element of the production. Brenda is to help Richard with the prop collecting Rehearsal subs have been agreed at £1 a week. John Williams will collect the subs and act as rehearsal prompt. The Roses theatre wants a write up and pictures for the next brochure. Oonagh and Ian Bishop will be the two characters on the posters for the production. The deadline for text and images to be submitted for The Roses brochure is the 1st Oct. Liza Otter will take the pictures and Richard Hughes will write the blurb. A model of the set has been completed by Richard Hughes and the licence applied for. |
| TADS @ The Barn | Hannah Moore has met with Paddy Grimshaw, a
poster
has been put together by Roger Grimshaw as well as flyers for the
shelter boxes. The layout of the flyer and programmes were discussed.
It was agreed that we would print the programmes on thin card as we
are planning on selling them so can cover this cost. Brenda was to
look into purchasing paper. On the back of the programme will be the same picture and blurb for P&P that will be submitted to The Roses. The deadline for the two is very close so it was agreed the picture and text will be completed by the 24th September. Advertising for the event was discussed and Hannah is to discuss with Roger whether he would be happy for us to put up posters around the town. Due to the limited number of acts that were currently enlisted it was agreed that we would include ‘Don’t Give it Another Thought’ in the programme. Brenda called Jo Harper and Paula Fancini-Hooper during the course of the meeting who both agreed they would be willing to be involved in another performance of the play. Richard Hughes is to confirm that John Elliot is able / willing to take part in another performance. Brenda is to take the part of the shopper and Geoff Guy will play the role of the Police Officer. A rehearsal for DGIAT will be held at The Roses on the 23rd September at 19.00 pm. The cast and character list for Jonah will be included in the programme for TADS @ The Barn. Titles of the songs may also be included depending on whether the performers would prefer to introduce their own material. Ticket sales are to be coordinated by Hannah Moore who will also look into who cheques need to be made payable to. If anyone wishes to purchase tickets or contact Hannah then she can be contacted on her works email which is: sws.admin@craegmoor.co.uk Raffle prizes are needed for the evening. It was agreed that two tickets to P&P will be raffled and Richard will liaise with The Roses box office as to how to put this into place. |
Future Productions | |
| Ring Round the Moon | Possible venues for an outside production of
Productions: this play were suggested as The Queens Head, at Aston
Cross or The Coal
House at Apperley. Brenda is look at the feasibility of casting the
play and identify a possible leading man. Brenda will discuss any
further ideas at the next meeting. |
| Tewkesbury Abbey Fete | It is possibly too early to look at outlining sketches
for the fete. However, with Ring Round the Moon and P&P it was
decided it may be taking too much on to also put forward ideas for
the fete. |
| One Act Play Festival | As with the fete it may be taking on too much
to take part in this as well as putting on Ring Round the Moon and
P&P. Depending on whether Brenda thinks it is possible to cast
for RRTM further ideas for the One Act Play Festival will be
discussed at the next meeting. |
AOB | |
| Fur coats are needed for John Elliot. Brenda may be able to
assist
with this and Richard Hughes will also look in John William's attic.
Date of Next Meeting: Thursday 11th October at The Roses bar.
