TEWKESBURY ARTS AND DRAMA SOCIETY CONSTITUTION

This constitution supersedes all previous or undated constitutions.

AIMS OF THE SOCIETY

The aims of the Society are: 

OFFICERS

The Officers of the Society shall include: Chairman, Vice-chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.

POWERS OF SOCIETY

The Society: 

The Society must, after free discussion, obtain the approval of the majority of attendees at a meeting to make decisions.

MEMBERS

There will be four forms of membership:

1. Full membership - 18 years and over.

This will entitle the member to audition for parts in the Society's productions, to help on the technical side and to attend any social functions, and to full voting privileges at all Society meetings. A participating member must pay all outstanding debts to the Society within two weeks of a production being cast.

2. Junior membership - under 18 years of age.

Members in this category will have no voting privileges.

3. Occasional membership - any age

This category consists of non-paid-up members of the Society who are involved in the current production at the producer's request, and have no voting privileges.

4. Honorary membership

Honorary membership of the Society is awarded for special services to the Society. Such members are exempt from membership fees and retain full voting privileges.

MEMBERSHIP FEES 

The membership fee consists of a single annual fee that falls due at the AGM each year. 

Membership fees are to be reviewed and approved annually by the Society and any increase is to be communicated to the membership.

PRODUCTION FEES

A production fee will be charged to all members attending rehearsals for each production.

Production fees will be reviewed as part of the production budget, and agreed at a regular monthly meeting.

Production fees may be charged per production, weekly, or for each rehearsal. 

FINANCIAL YEAR

This is to end on 31st January. 

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

This is to be held within two months of the financial year end. A quorum for such a meeting will be one third of the paid-up full membership. Twenty-one days' notice of such a meeting must be given to members by the Society's Secretary or other Officers. 

EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

An Extraordinary General Meeting may be called by any full member of the Society with consent from three other full members, making a total of five. Twenty-one days' notice of such a meeting must be given to members. 

DISSOLUTION OF THE SOCIETY

The Society may be dissolved by the resolution of the Society passed at a special meeting of the Society. Twenty-one days' notice of such a meeting shall be given to the members. 

ALTERATION OF THE CONSTITUTION

The Constitution may not be altered without a majority decision at a general meeting of the Society. Twenty-one days' notice of such a meeting shall be given to the members.
